THE SECURITY CHALLENGE
Financial Institutions are struggling to identify and protect sensitive member information.
Member account numbers, social security numbers, birth dates, credit card numbers
and login names can leak out of an unprotected network making sensitive data vulnerable
to theft.
THE e-SCOPE SOLUTION
ECCT’s e-SCOPE Data Leak Prevention Service allows
financial institutions to identify confidential data and enforce data security policies to
prevent such data from inadvertently or deliberately leaving the secured network.
Unlike other solutions, ECCT’s DLP (Data Leak Prevention) Services protect data
by watching multiple data formats: Structured Data (actual data), Pattern Matching
(nnn-nn-nnnn), Keywords (Login Name, Password) and designated files.
THE ECCT DIFFERENCE
ECCT deploys DLP Solutions on multiple data processor platforms and
fingerprints the sensitive data from the specific database to prevent data from
leaking out of the network. Many DLP products use "pattern matching" to attempt
to identify the format of the sensitive data. ECCT’s DLP does that, but also actively
fingerprints data directly from your database so that your member’s information
cannot escape from the network.
Protected data may include account numbers, social security numbers,
credit card numbers, and passwords. The DLP appliance scans for sensitive data by
fingerprinting structured data, profile pattern matching, identifying key words,
and mapping sensitive files and folders for detection.
The DLP device is installed on the network's edge so that all traffic that passes
from the protected network to the outside world is monitored. The DLP appliance
will detect any sensitive data leaving the network and can employ multiple responses.
RESULT
Malicious or unintentional transmissions of confidential data over the network are
identified and blocked. With DLP, organizations are fully secured and compliant
with government data security regulations as it relates to NCUA, FFIEC, Sarbanes
Oxley, GLBA, HIPAA, CA SB1386, CA AB1950, Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security
Standard, The Patriot Act, and others.
